Career Stories That Get Interviews (Not Just Compliments)

Strong candidates do not list responsibilities. They package proof. Use this framework to turn your experience into interview-driving stories.

Why good resumes still fail

Many resumes are clear and polished, but they do not answer:

  • what changed because you were there?
  • how hard was the problem?
  • why should someone trust you with bigger scope?

Use the PACE framework

For each bullet, include:

  • Problem: what was broken?
  • Action: what did you own?
  • Change: what improved?
  • Evidence: metric, timeline, or business impact

Weak

"Collaborated with cross-functional stakeholders to improve onboarding."

Strong

"Led onboarding redesign with product and support teams, reducing time-to-value from 10 days to 4 and increasing 30-day retention by 18%."

Build your story bank

Create 8-12 stories and label each by competency:

  • leadership
  • ambiguity
  • prioritization
  • execution
  • communication

Then ask AI to generate tailored versions by company and role seniority.

This is how you stop rewriting from scratch.
